ICT is the cradle for China computer profession, having spun off new academic institutions and hi-tech companies(i.e. Lenovo) . Dawning 5000A Supercomputing System will be launched by this November, developed by ICT and Dawning Corp. under the support of Chinese Hi-tech Program, with 230 TFlops of peak performance and 160TFlops Linpack performance.
