Description:
The BSC manages MareNostrum. Its mission is to research, develop and manage information technology towards the scientific progress. There are four scientific areas: Computer Sciences, Computer Applications in Science & Engineering, Life and Earth Sciences.
The initiative of creating this
National Supercomputing Facility was taken by the Spanish and Catalan Governments, and the Technical University of Catalonia in 2004.
